Chatbound is currently in owner testing. Public uploads and sales are disabled until the owner enables them.

What you choose to share

We store your uploaded exports, optional portraits, chosen names and context on the Chatbound server. You choose conversations before AI processing. Please obtain the permission needed to use other people’s messages and photos, and remove unnecessary sensitive information.

Who processes it

Selected text and image descriptions are sent through OpenRouter to the configured writing/vision providers. Audio and illustration references are sent through fal.ai to the selected model providers. Those services have their own retention and processing policies. This is cloud AI processing, not end-to-end encrypted or entirely on your device. We request providers that disallow data collection through OpenRouter’s routing controls; that is not a promise of zero retention across every provider.

Private links

No account is needed. Your recovery link is a secret that grants management access. A separate gift link grants reading access. Anyone you share a link with can use it until it expires or you delete the book. Recovery tokens are stored in your browser to reopen your book. We do not send chat content to analytics or advertising tools.

Retention and deletion

Raw chats, media, portraits and intermediate generation notes are removed after seven days when no job is running. Books, PDFs and gift links expire after thirty days. Download your PDF to keep it. Use “Delete my story and uploads” in the reader to remove content sooner. Minimal payment records may be retained for accounting. Server backups, if configured by the operator, may retain older copies until their rotation expires.

Payments and referrals

Stripe processes payment details if sales are enabled. We store the order reference and amount, not card numbers. An influencer referral code may be stored for this browser session and attached to the order to calculate an unpaid commission record. No commission is paid automatically.

Before public launch

The owner must add the legal business identity, contact details, processor agreements, retention procedures and relevant consumer information before opening public sales. For this private test, contact the person who invited you.
